I can only echo the comments of the other posters here. Such difficult and important work deserves fair compensation. Best of luck with your campaign.
Keep up the good work with this campaign. It scares me to think of the negative impact that less nurses has. Inequal pay..why wouldn’t one leave. But Australia needs these nurses…let’s show them just how valuable our nurses are!
This should be a crime.Bureaucracy is forcing the nurses who have dedicated their time and lives to help people out of a job and scaring new nurses away. The fact that help is needed to keep nurses in hospitals sickens me.
please support our nurses!!
the government needs to wake up to themselves, i bet they would see things differently if they were unfortunate enough to need the service of a very tired and frassled nurse who can not give them the 100 percent that everyperson is entitled to.
I wanted to become a nurse and did my Cert III in aged care, but 16hrs day I cant do as I am a wife also and mum.
I fully support your campaign, unfortunately even with your hoped for changes to shift penalties it will leave you behind the norm for other industries. Unfortunately it is impossible to find a similar profession as a comparison. I would prefer to ask the bean counters and seat warmers (who are currently refusing to negotiate) the penalty rates they would be prepared to accept for shift work.
If NSW nurses had conditions of service half as good as the basic Commonwealth public servant they would be laughing!
It is time for a fair go and recognition of the responsibilities held by healthcare professionals.
Qualifications, experience, responsibility - needs appropriate recognition. Everyone else gets it so why not nurses!
I have nothing but the utmost respect for nurses. I don’t know how they cope with such a demanding work environment.
Please listen to their pay claim … I can’t think of a profession more deserving of better pay and conditions.
I thoroughly support the push for fair conditions and pay for nurses. It is also high time that the autocracy of the AMA was challenged. I am disgusted at the way these Doctors continue to undermine and hinder the fair reward and treatment of nurses.
I want to speak out in support of all our wonderful nurses. I have recently spent a lot of time in and out of hospital and the nurses are what have kept me going. They do so much work for such unsuitable pay. They deserve everyones support and fair pay for fair work. An austrlia low on nurses is not something i think anyone wants to see. Too horrible to imagine.
