Im a student nurse and looking forward to helping others in need but who will look after us WE are not superhumans! What will it take for the government to open their eyes?
As a NSW Government employee in an industry that cares for others, I fully support your fight for fair pay. I interact with nurses frequently in my job, and you do a brilliant job.
I hope you all get the financial support you deserve for providing such a vital service to our community.
I have cousins who work as nurses, and they put in hard hours. Nurses are dedicated people, who work hard. they are dedicated to their work, and deserve better conditions
We need our Nurses
We are CENTRAL to the deliverence of patient/resident care & health outcomes in our society. The scope of what we do is simply not understood. We dont export Iron Ore and make $$$$$$ for the country. What we do is not recognised. As an EEN, I find that the pay is not indicative of the responsibilities one takes on as a clinician in an acute setting. An offer of such that is comparable to, or less than the rate of inflation will discourage those who may be considering Nursing as a career.
I have been nursing in the public system all of my nursing career which accounts for 16 years and in that time we the nurses are expected to do more with less staff. We deserve a fairer pay to come inline with the work that we are asked to perform
I have been working since 1975 and our renumeration should be greater than 8 years thereafter. How will the young be encouraged to nurse if that is where the money stops.
I have been working in the NSW Health System for 31 years fulltime. I think there is inadequate renumeration for the training and services provided compared to other professions. There is no aknowledgment for years sevice delivered, and as a nurse at a small centre as many are, are often under more stress, working alone, no clerical support and often in very poor facilities. We are often put on the backburner so it is time for us to make a stand and fight for better pay and recognition. Also recognise more than 7-8yrs thereafter. I do not do shift work any more but find it often more stressful than working with other workers in a hospital.
I have been nursingfor 37 years and I think that should be recognised The 8 year thereafter pay does not recognise our continuing contribution to the Health System
Nurses, like teachers, have been disproportionately remunerated for the work they do for way too long. It is a reflection of our being in the dark ages in relation to female dominated positions. Nurses do more to benefit our communities than many others higher up the public purse food chain. We need to grow up as a community and reprioritise how our resources look after our needs, paying nurses something close to their immense value would be a good start. Blessings to them all.
